What do you know about flu shots? In the fall of every year the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), will campaign for us to get the shot.
Flu pandemics have been recorded as far back as 1580. The most serious recent one was the Spanish Flu pandemic (1918-1920). Upwards of 40 million people died from it. The high death rate is likely because the poor sanitary conditions at that time. Vaccines for influenza started in the 1940's. The current egg-based technology for producing influenza vaccine was created in the 1950s.
A recent study came out in the October 2008 issue of the Archives of Pediatric & Adolescent Medicine saying the vaccination against the flu appeared to have no impact on flu-related hospitalizations or doctor visits during two recent flu seasons for young children. The researchers concluded that "significant influenza vaccine effectiveness could not be demonstrated for any season, age or setting".
Also a Group Health study found that vaccination does not protect elderly people against developing pneumonia (the primary cause of death resulting as a complication of the flu).
There has been no decrease in deaths from influenza or pneumonia among the elderly with the increase of vaccinations from 15% in 1980 to 65% now.
Serious adverse reactions:
*Anaphylactic shock and other life-threatening allergic reactions
*Guillain-Barre syndrome ( a paralytic autoimmune disease)
I remember in the early 1980's, a neighbors sister was in a wheel chair with Guillain-Barre syndrome from getting a flu shot, that's when I decided that I would not get the vaccination.
Flu shots contain toxic or hazardous ingredients such as:
* 25 micrograms of Thimerosal-(which is 49% mercury by weight and each dose has 250 times more than the EPA's safety limit). Fetuses in pregnant women and childrens brains are still developing which means they are at a high risk for damage from the neurotoxin.
It has been implicated as a cause of autism. I cannot believe these shots are recommended considering the risks involved.
* Aluminum- a neurotoxin that has been linked to Alzheimer's disease
* Formaldehyde- a known cancer-causing agent
* Triton X-100- a detergent
* Phenol- carbolic acid
* Ethylene Glycol- also known as antifreeze
* Various antibiotics- neomycin, streptomycin, gentamicin, which can cause allergic reactions in some people.
Getting this inoculation does not keep you from getting the flu or flu-like symptoms. Your body can be susceptible to the viruses that you are exposed to. The shot contains certain strains of the viruses and no one knows which one you will be exposed to.
One credible hypothesis that explains the seasonal nature of the flu is a Vitamin D deficiency. When exposed to sunlight which is mostly in the summer, we are able to make Vitamin D from the sun (you can learn more about
on this website) therefore you are less likely to get the flu and children are less likely to get rickets (a Vitamin D-deficient skeletal disorder). The increased number of deaths occur in the winter when there is less sun. Vitamin D releases your body's own protective antibiotic (antimicrobial peptides).
The Federal Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), recommends the flu vaccination for children under 5 years of age. For the first time, the flu vaccination is being pushed to include children up to 18 years of age, expanding inoculations to 30 million school-age kids.
The argument is while older children seldom get as sick, it's a bigger population that gets the flu at a higher rate. They're hoping this change should cut missed school days and parents missing work when they get the flu from their kids.
This policy ignores the fact that a systematic review of 51 studies involving 260,000 children ages 6 months to 23 months found no evidence that the vaccine is any more effective than a placebo ( an inactive substance used in an experiment).
A majority of the ACIP members who are involved with making the guidelines have financial connections with the vaccine industry and a personal gain for every additional person who gets the flu shot. This might explain why something that can be bad for us is being so strongly advised for us. They have done a good job of putting the fear into us that we need to get the flu shot to be healthy when it is doing more harm than good.
Do you think we are passing around the flu in higher numbers because of people getting the flu shot that contains the viruses? Would it get passed around less if there were no flu shots? Good questions!
Getting the flu shot:
* The vaccination has never been proved to be effective.
* It can give you the illness that you are trying not to get.
* Receiving the strains of the viruses that aren't even out there.
* Has potential long-term side effects that are far worse than the flu itself.
What you can do to stay healthy and not get sick:
* Get your daily amount of
(sunshine or vitamin supplement).
* Eat right, avoid sugar.
* Eat garlic regularly.
* Take essential fatty acids (like omega 3 fish oil).
* Get your probiotics (in a healthy yogurt like Stoneyfield Farms).
* Take quality nutritional supplements (Vitamin C, D, zinc and
* Get adequate sleep.
* Address emotional stress.
* Wash your hands regularly.
The antioxidant quercetin found in red onions, grapes, broccoli, red wine and supplements might help you avoid the flu. This bioflavonoid is found in 500mg coated tablets.
If you start getting sick, you can take Olive leaf extract or
(potent broad-spectrum antiviral agent), Elderberry, or Astragalus.
These are just some of the natural ways to avoid getting the flu shot and really getting sick!

Google is going to track this flu season and post it for us to see.
There is a reference book available called "Saying No to Vaccines: A Resource Guide for all ages" by Dr. Sherri Tenpenny. (HerbAllure.com) This book give you information on how to legally avoid vaccines.
New Jersey is the first state to require a mandatory flu shot for all children before enrolling preschool and daycare. Private insurance companies have totally abandoned coverage for "damage to life and property" due to vaccinations.
