Coq10 helps lower blood pressure!

coq10,antioxidant,coenzyme

Coenzyme Q 10, also known as CoQ10.

What is CoQ10?

A natural antioxidant made by the body. A nutrient that is found in nearly every cell. It's also a fat soluble substance that functions as a coenzyme in energy production (ATP synthesis) at a cellular level.

Therefore, it is essential for the health of organs, tissues, immune system, the stomach lining (gastric mucosa) and gums (gingival).

What does it do in the body?

This nutrient goes through a complex process with the right amount of amino acid tyrosine and at least 8 vitamins and several trace minerals.

  • It improves use of oxygen at the cellular level, mostly for the heart muscle.
  • Helps prevent the oxidation of LDL (bad) cholesterol
  • Maintains healthy blood vessels
  • Reduces the risk of plaque rupture
  • Supports optimal functioning of cardiac cells
  • Helps lower blood pressure
  • Protects proteins and mitochondrial DNA from free radical damage and stress, regenerates oxidized vitamin E and neutralizes free radicals that promote tumor growth and metastases

CoQ10 is used to strengthen the heart muscle and to help prevent or heal from heart attacks. Also, helps with bleeding gums, reduces side effects of chemotherapy, cellular energy production and detoxification.

It is recommended for anyone who is concerned about:

  • Heart health
  • Cholesterol
  • If you are taking Red Yeast Rice, statins, or prescription drugs. They suppress the body’s natural production of CoQ10 which causes side effects of fatigue, aching joints and muscles. (Red Yeast Rice has a lower incidence)
  • Aging process (prevention) reduced levels of CoQ10 have been associated with aging
  • Degenerative diseases
  • Brain function

If you have any of the following, you may want to consider taking CoQ10...

  • Food or Respiratory Allergies
  • Alzheimer’s disease
  • Angina
  • Aortic valvular disease, mitral valve prolapse
  • Asthma
  • High blood pressure, preeclampsia
  • Cancer, Studies have shown that the lower the blood levels of CoQ10 are, the more serious the cancer
  • Cardiac arrest (heart attack)
  • Cardiovascular disease (heart disease)
  • Coronary artery disease
  • Fatigue, chest discomfort, shortness of breath, fluid buildup in the lower legs, congestion in the lungs
  • Chronic Illness
  • Debility (chronic weakness)
  • Diabetes (Type I & II)
  • Down syndrome
  • Edema (dropsy, water retention, swelling)
  • Emphysema
  • Energy (lack of)
  • Free radical damage
  • Gingivitis (bleeding gums, gum disease, pyorrhea
  • Grave’s disease
  • Hair loss
  • Hashimoto’s disease (thyroiditis)
  • Heart fibrillation or Palpitations
  • Immune deficiency
  • Incontinence
  • Inflammation
  • Liver problems
  • Low blood and tissue levels of CoQ10
  • Muscle tone
  • Muscular dystrophy
  • Narcolepsy
  • Parkinson’s disease
  • Raynaud’s disease
  • Rheumatic fever
  • Loose teeth
  • Vertigo

CoQ10 may be beneficial in the treatment of AIDS and male infertility.

Foods that have CoQ10...

Beef heart, pork, sardines, anchovies, mackerel, salmon, broccoli, spinach and nuts.

Deficiency can happen from:

  • Low dietary intake of CoQ10
  • Chronic malnutrition
  • Chronic disease
  • Not getting the sufficient amount of essential nutrients that are needed to form together with CoQ10
  • Prescription drugs: Cholesterol-reducing drugs, HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors, statins
  • Certain Beta-blockers, adriamycin (anti-cancer drug), phenothiazine and tricyclic antidepressants (psychotropic drugs)
  • Athletes, most likely due to the increased metabolic demands of muscles involved in consistent high-intensity exercise which in turn results in increased free radical reactions
  • Long-term excess alcohol consumption
  • Viral infections causing severe heart inflammation

The recommendation amount is 60 to 90 mg daily. It is rare but if you feel a mild reaction of stomach discomfort, you can reduce the dose. Take after meals.

No serious adverse reactions have been found with CoQ10.
