How I Started My Passion For Natural Health.

Hi, I am Cindy Fonner, a natural health enthusiast.

I am a 47 year old wife and mother of 3 sons in their 20’s. I don’t think about how old or young I am, I think about the now.

What can I do today for my body, mind and spirit, for others, for the world . I look at what I am grateful for, the wondrous things that are in life and the good.

I grew up in Western Pennsylvania in a family that included grandparents that were born in the late 1800’s. I experienced the way they lived on their farms, went through the depression, and how important their health is to them. The women in our family spent there day making well-rounded complete meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner.

So health was prominent as I was growing up. My family knew that it was important to be healthy for a good quality life. When I reached an age when I thought I could make some of my own decisions, I picked up some bad habits. I was concerned about keeping my weight and body fat down, so I thought I could do that by eating very little and smoking cigarettes.

When I became an adult, I was diagnosed with a hormonal imbalance and I would eat mostly sweets. I was always active until I accepted an office job where I was sitting at a desk all day. I decided to take up running to stop smoking, to control my weight gain and to handle my stress level. Even with running 10 miles a day, I still had troubles keeping the body image I wanted.

When I got married and had children, I stayed busy and focused on keeping my family happy and healthy. After the children were older I went back to an office job, sitting at a desk again. I noticed my muscles would not stay as strong without regular exercise, my weight was increasing and my energy level was low. So I decided to increase my workouts. It wasn’t as easy as it was when I was younger and I felt like I needed something else.

I decided to go to a natural health specialist for help. I thought she would have some good vitamins that would give me more energy, keep my weight down and I could be healthier.

The visit was an eye opener. I was amazed to think about the amount of information there must be in natural health and how much I do not know. I was yearning for more, I was so fascinated by it. There is so much that we don’t know about our bodies.

Your body lets you know what is going on and it can heal itself when you are aware and do what it needs. The beauty of the body is that it gives us symptoms so we can get to the root of the problem. A lot of us look at the symptoms as a bad thing, it is usually painful or a real nuisance.

We look for something like a prescription drug to cover it up, make it go away asap which will result in what we don’t want, a long ongoing, addition to the problem, issue.

There are so many people that have taken the time and effort to learn and educate others, to make it easier for everyone to understand and know what we can do if we want to be healthier.

I took one step at a time and continue to learn and practice natural health.

Some of the things that I have done so far:

  • Cleanses and detoxification
  • Eat healthier and more foods, protein, lentils, fruits, vegetables, grains, Stoneyfield Farms yogurt, dark chocolate, nuts and seeds. I find eating more exciting with all the different foods and tastes there are to choose from. My taste buds were not as keen with the sugar and white flour foods that I use to eat.
  • Drinks-there are so many teas to choose from such as green tea and reverse osmosis water.
  • Good quality Daily Nutritional supplements (like USANA and Nature's Sunshine).
  • Yoga and meditation, weight bearing exercises, walking.
  • Had counseling to deal with my past and to improve my mental well being.
  • Continuous classes on self development and natural health.
  • Started my own website about Health and Nutrition.
  • Chiropractic care.
  • Energy work.
  • Helping my family, pets and friends with their health.

Since I started my journey I have met many wonderful people.

It is a good feeling to be empowered with knowledge and good products to maintain overall good health and to use when your health is challenged.

I hear people talking about their health all the time. It always seems to come up in conversations and it is always about their ailments. Being the type of person that I am, I always want to help. I am grateful for the internet technology where I can create my website and have the opportunity to share information on health and nutrition with people worldwide.

I hope you find my information informative and helpful. Please let me know if you have any questions or you have anything you would like to share with me.
